OUR DESIGN PROCESS
Creating spaces that meet our clients needs and embody their personalities is the most rewarding part of our work!
Everyone’s needs are different. If you are looking for project management services from start to finish for renovations, we are not the firm for you. We focus our talents on developing the parts of the design that provide the most value.
Our documents will allow you to work with other skilled professionals (general contractors, flooring installers, electricians, custom millwork companies) to implement the design.
We do provide ordering, delivery and set-up for our trade only vendor products- including, but not limited to custom furniture, lighting, rugs, textiles, artwork + decor.
Although every design project is different, a consultation is always the first step in the process. We believe a successful project starts with clear communication to ensure your needs are met. This consultation will include an overview of the existing spaces, your goals for the project, a rough timeline for completion, and your estimated budget.
We begin by establishing a relationship. We will ask you a number of questions regarding your functional needs and aesthetic preferences, inventory your existing furnishings, photograph your space, and discuss your project budget and timeline.
DESIGN DEVELOPMENT PHASE
We develop new space plans, furniture plans, and color palettes, as well as select your new interior finishes such as paint, wallcovering, flooring, ceiling and window treatments, moldings, cabinetry and countertops. After we finish sourcing your job, we meet with you to review the design concept boards, plans and finish selections. We will collaborate to make any refinements needed.
We do not offer project management services for other professionals including general contractors and kitchen companies. We work to create the designs and encourage our clients to work directly with the trade professionals of their choice. We are happy to meet and discuss designs with the professionals you've hired.
This phase is all about the details! If your design requires 3D renderings, elevations or other documents they will be completed and reviewed during this phase, prior to construction and product ordering. We will also provide a product and finish list for your approval in our online studio. Once approved, we will handle the ordering of any of our trade only vendor furnishings and decor, so that the items are received in time for the installation. Clients will order any other items- retail vendors, cabinets, countertops, etc. directly from the local or online vendor.
Following the conclusion of the construction with your contractor of choice, we will schedule the delivery and installation of all your furnishings, accessories, and artwork.
Before we conclude our time together, we do a final walk-through with you and prepare a list of any remaining small items needing attention. We also discuss the care and maintenance of all your new furnishings so you can enjoy them for many years and maintain their new appearance.
